Our vision for Fradley Marina is for it to be a well-appointed, secluded and welcoming community where berth-holders will benefit from a range of modern facilities in an un-crowded setting. At the core of that approach is the fact that we’ve planned the site to optimise quality of environment over boats per square inch of water space. If this sounds like the type of marina you’ve been looking for then drop us a line and we can talk you through the details.
Located in the tranquil farmlands between the historic villages of Fradley and Alrewas in Staffordshire, we sit on the popular Trent and Mersey Canal, just a stone’s throw from Fradley Junction and the famous ‘Mucky Duck’ pub. We’re just a few minutes from the A38, giving easy access to the M6Toll and the national motorway network. That said, its rare to hear any of those roads from the marina.
When complete the Marina will consist of three interconnecting ponds that have been sympathetically designed to shelter one narrowboat from another. The way we’re building the ponds means that boats will have privacy, natural screening and in some cases, access to a private area of greenery around the boat.
With a capacity of 60 boats and with most pontoons measuring 60ft or more, each mooring will have access to metered electricity, wi-fi & fresh drinking water. Just a short walk from every mooring is waste disposal and sanitary facilities as well as a purpose-built shower block and washing machines.
If all that sounds like the kind of marina you’d like to keep your boat at then why not drop us a line.
Our vision is that this private and gated community will also have a dedicated DIY mooring and we have already laid the foundations for a Victorian style boat house and slipway giving access to workshops to enable repairs, maintenance & painting to happen on site. This is also where we will host our boat building business.
The marina sits on Daisy Lane between the villages of Fradley and Alrewas . Both villages have pubs, shops and other conveniences. Each village is less than a mile from the marina on the towpath and we are fortunate to have a designated cycle and public footpath at the bottom of our driveway.
Just a few miles further down the road is the beautiful cathedral city of Lichfield, itself just 18 miles north of Birmingham. Attractions within a few miles include the National Memorial Arboretum, Cannock Chase & Alton Towers
As we said above, our vision of a well-appointed, secluded and welcoming community is taking shape month by month as the year proceeds. If this sounds like the type of marina you’ve been looking for then drop us a line and we can talk you through the details.
